Every now and again I like to change or update existing items around the house. I’ve had about half a dozen untreated wood photo frames from various shops knocking around for a while and finally got round to prettying them up with some paint.
Even if the wood is untreated it has probably been sanded already, but give it a quick going over with some sandpaper (or is it called glasspaper now?) just to get rid of any grease or grime. After that give it a wipe with a lint free cloth and you’re ready for the off.
I love updates like this because all you need is a little paint, three or four coats later and you’re done. Minimum effort, great result.
This is perfect to do if you’ve recently repainted a room and have paint leftover. Not only do you get a uniquely coloured frame to show off your photos, but it will also perfectly coordinate with the colour of your room. Double win!
(If you don’t have any paint around the house and don’t want to buy a whole can, a small sample pot should do the trick.)
