If you’re on Twitter and follow any bloggers you might have noticed a bit of a Pinterest buzz.
The ‘Pin It Forward UK’ hashtag doing the rounds. Lots of bloggers (myself included) excitedly talking about the platform, about boards we love and upcoming blog posts.
What’s it all about?
Allow me to start from the beginning. If you’ve been reading this blog for a while (thank you!), you’ll know that I refer to Pinterest a lot and before now it was for no other reason than I love it, it’s beautiful and it’s made my life easier.
Pre-Pinterest, I had ring binder, upon box, upon folder full of magazine clippings, tearsheets and swatches. The only way I could really collate all the things I found inspiring, beautiful or useful – then along came Pinterest. A wonderful, easy to use platform that allows us to organise, collect and share all the things we find interesting, funny or just plain gorgeous.
Though many, many people have already succumbed to the charms of the site, they’ve actually only just officially launched in the UK, and to celebrate this they invited a number of UK bloggers to spread the word – so here I am!
What can you pin?
Pretty much anything! Create a board, give it a title and get pinning! I have boards about colours, crafts and DIY, lighting and design for different rooms and spaces – one of my favourite boards is ‘tantalising textiles‘.
What’s not to like about gazing at beautiful things?!
As I mentioned, lots of us UK bloggers are involved in the ‘Pin It Forward UK’ campaign and tomorrow the very lovely, award-winning design and lifestyle blogger, Design Hunter (also known as Helen) will be telling you why and what she loves about Pinterest. Personally I’m digging her neon and mid century boards.
So if you’re not already a part of the Pinterest party, but would like to join the rest of us addicts, you can sign up here – you’ll thank me. Oh and once you’re in, don’t forget to come and find me!
